What This Course Covers
Through hands-on training you become certified to perform and administer basic life support. You learn to recognize severe, life-threatening emergencies and deliver accurate chest compressions and ventilation when necessary.
You will practice the AHA chain of survival, removing airway obstructions, effective ventilation using a barrier device, working with a team on multi-rescuer resuscitation, and early use of an AED. Training in BLS qualifies you to perform life-saving techniques safely and effectively in both in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings.
Who It Is For
This class meets the requirements for medical personnel, hospital employees, technicians, and students in healthcare fields. You do not have to work in healthcare to take it.
