Most CPR providers are not built for people in a hurry. You find a class, you open the calendar, and the first opening is three weeks out. That is fine if you planned ahead. It is useless if your American Heart Association card expired and your employer needs proof of certification before your next shift.
Links4Life teaches AHA certification classes in Lakemoor, Illinois, seven days a week, roughly 9:00 am to 6:30 pm, with no waiting list. When the timeline is tight, emergency scheduling is available and can often be arranged the same day or the next day. Here is how it works, which class to book, and what to have ready before you call.
When you actually need a same day CPR class
Emergency scheduling exists for the situations where a normal booking will not land in time. The ones we hear most often:
- Your card expired and HR has already flagged it
- You start a new healthcare job, travel assignment, or clinical rotation in the next few days
- A nursing, dental, EMT, or allied health program will not let you attend without a current card
- Your day care, camp, gym, or school is facing an inspection this week
- You finished HeartCode Part 1 online and still need the in-person skills session
- A coworker called off and someone certified has to be on the schedule
Emergency scheduling is $150. If your deadline is a week or two out, you do not need it. Book a regular class at standard pricing instead and keep the difference.
Which class to book when the clock is running
Booking the wrong course in a rush is the fastest way to end up doing this twice. Pull up the exact wording your employer or program sent you and match it against this list:
- BLS Provider, 90 minutes, $85. The healthcare version. Nurses, medical assistants, techs, dental staff, therapists, and students in healthcare programs. If your paperwork says BLS for Healthcare Providers or AHA BLS, this is the one.
- BLS Renewal, 45 to 60 minutes, $79. For students who have already completed HeartCode Part 1 online. Bring your online completion certificate. Without it, this class cannot be run as a renewal.
- Heartsaver CPR AED, 2 to 3 hours, $95. For everyone outside healthcare. Teachers, coaches, personal trainers, day care staff, warehouse and factory teams, church volunteers, and parents. Covers adults, children, and infants, plus AED use and choking relief.
- Heartsaver First Aid, 1 to 2 hours, $95. Wounds, bleeding, burns, fractures, head and spinal injuries, shock, allergic reactions, and heat illness.
If your requirement reads CPR and First Aid, that is two separate certifications, not one class. Every course and price is listed on the class prices page. If you read the requirement twice and still are not sure, call and read it out loud to us. That conversation usually takes under a minute.
Where last minute students drive in from
Classes are taught at 28959 Pilgrims Pass, Lakemoor, Illinois 60051. That location is a short drive for most of McHenry and western Lake County, which matters a lot when you are trying to fit a class between shifts. Students come in from:
- Lakemoor, Volo, and McHenry
- Round Lake, Fox Lake, and Island Lake
- Wauconda, Grayslake, and Johnsburg
- Crystal Lake, Woodstock, and Spring Grove
- The rest of northern Illinois
No tollway, no downtown campus, no parking garage. You park, you take the class, you leave.
What to have ready before you call
Same day scheduling moves faster when you have four things in hand:
- The exact certification wording from your employer, school, or agency
- Your deadline, including the time of day if it is tight
- Your HeartCode Part 1 completion certificate, if you are doing a BLS Renewal
- Clothes you can kneel and move in, since every class is hands-on
What you walk out with
Every class ends with a two year American Heart Association card, issued at the end of class. It is not mailed weeks later and it is not a document you have to chase down through a portal. You leave holding the thing your employer asked for, which is the entire point when your deadline is tomorrow.

Rushing the schedule does not mean rushing the class. You still practice compressions on a manikin with an instructor watching and correcting you, because that is what makes the skill stick.
